Call + Response

Our church is working together to raise awareness of human slavery. We are hosting a film screening of "Call + Response." www.callandresponse.com. and the exciting thing is that we will have a film director Justin Dilon to come to Ann Arbor and have a Q&A session.

This is truly exciting that I can have a chance to work with international figures. I think this is another privilege of going to a big school. I'm once humble by the opportunity that I was given from God.

A part of this movement requires mobilizing student body in our church to get involved and learn more about the issue. So we had a in-house fair, where different life groups prepare a creative presentation to educate one another about the issue that each life group researched about.

For my life group, we made a brothel to present the issue of child prostitution. It was extremely time consuming and tiring to prepare all the material, and it was especially challenging for me to get all my work done because I was fasting.

- btw I'm grateful for the time of fasting I had past 20 days. I had a very good chance to see who I am. I will write another blog about this.

And the saddest part of all this was a low participation from our lifegroup. It was very sad to see 20:80 rule play out in this process. 20% of the people do 80% of the work. I would love to see where all people willingly serve one another to see a great vision come true. A radically different: radically loving, radically serving, radically sacrificing, radically worshiping, radically following the word of God.

It is a confirmation that Flipprints has a long way to go.
I would like to go through this season of growth with love for God and his people.
Pastor Andrew exhorted me few days ago. He said if our serving does not couple with growth in our understanding of God and his love, we are not serving. We are just doing what we were told to do.

Looking back, I was doing it many times, in fact most of the time. I lost a sense of servant hood along the way. I'm very sure this caused headache to many many people.

It was a tough day...and I gotta go to bed. I'm really tired.
awrk.
