It's been awhile I wrote something on my blog.
I resumed my blog because I had some urgent needs to jot down daily insights I've been getting.
Particularly for this article, the recent death of Michael Jackson and a cancer diagnosis of someone I truly love rushed me to finish this post.Because of my internship, I currently reside in College Park, MD. The home of University of Maryland: College Park. I went to the University of Maryland student union to meet someone. As I was waiting I noticed that there was a small exhibition going on. I stepped into the room mainly for refreshment. (I'm a hungry man...you know)
The theme of the exhibition was "Moment."
Frankly, I don't have a deep appreciation of Arts beside music. I don't see the intricacy of expression nor posses understanding of rich historical contexts of the "Art". Yet, I was drawn to the work of Artists.
Although I read small expository essays from authors, I did not really understand what they were trying to communicate. Nonetheless, I appreciated the fine lines of detail drawing, string works, and beautiful photography.

As I was browsing around, I could not help but to think about the greatest artists, Leonardo DaVinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso, etc, and their influences. I was thinking "their works must have been extremely influential." There is no doubt that their undying legacies will continue to inspire people in years come.
I started thinking how this world will remember those artists. Sad truth is that all their masterpieces will be destroyed. It is the Law of Thermodynamics...the tissue of canvas and paint molecules will eventually erode and decompose. Unchanging laws of Physics will utterly prevail at the end. So how will this world commemorate and remember these artists and their works ?
What about numerous artists who were not fortunate enough to make names for themselves ?
What about great movies and songs that touched so many souls ? and numerous failed to do so ?

What about breath-taking work of architects and engineers ?
What about thousands of heroes and their brilliant stories ?
and...
What about me ?
How will this world remember me ?
One day, I will have a last breath. No matter how magnificent my achievements were. No matter how amazing life I lived. No matter how I impacted this world. No matter what I did, do and will do. My existence will be forgotten eventually.
And this is true for majority of people who lived, is living, and will live.
Only tiny fraction of people and their legacies will survive via history textbooks, legends, myths (or crazy conspiracy theories)

Every Lives
some fancy...some dull...
some abstract....some realistic...
some sweet...some sour...
some tearful...some joyful...
some painful...some painless...
some running...some walking...
some gaming...some gambling...
some striving...some strolling...
some lasting...some short-lived...
some with big legacy...some with no trace of existence....
Maybe the greatness of one's life isn't defined by its legacy...maybe it is defined by how you lived...how you are living this very day...this very moment. Moment.
p.s - may be I understood a bit from those essays.
