What kind of World do you want ?

Yesterday, I was listening to "World" by Five for Fighting.
I first heard this song when I saw "Call and Response" (anti-slavery documentary.)

It was performed by Natasha Bedingfield, and I recalled the song was very powerful. The lyric resonates the powerful imagery of hope and activism. The song asks very rudimentary, yet profound question. "What kind of World do you want?".

A simple enough question that a five-year-old can answer, but the very same question requires me to contemplate on my philosophy, ideology and faith.

So what kind of world do YOU want? and what kind of world do I want? Shortly after listening to this, I was convicted to pray about it, and I fell asleep.

In the dream, I saw a little boy called Hong Yoon. A boy who started a journey of life...a life that was dictated by curiosity, need for love, and wishes. And I had an intense desire to go back and live that life again.

For me, that childhood was absolutely precious and important...treasure of my lifetime.

It dawned upon me later that so many children in this world cannot afford the luxury of happy childhood. Children soldiers, child slavery, sex trafficking, domestic abuse, Orphans without safety nets, extreme poverty, etc..

So what kind of world do I want?
There are many changes that I would like to see.

But one thing,
I want this world to protect childhood of all people.

I love that song so much! :)
yeah, it's so important to ask - what kind of world do we want - and then we gotta get focused on the vision and invest all we have into it.

hope you are well!
