Jesus commanded us to love others.
And I find this commandment very difficult at times.
My bike got stolen today, and I was not very happy to receive one of my friend's email.
I constantly had to bring my frustration and anger to God.
I knew no matter how I felt, I had no right to be angry at anyone.
God forgave me.
In his book 'Mere Christianity', C.S. Lewis mentioned that 'forgiveness' is one of the most undesired doctrines in Christianity. And I agree.
The fact that my ability to love others is heavily coupled with the circumstance scares me. Christians are called to decouple these.
John 15:9-12
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."
Jesus...this is one crazy commandment, and I need your help.
